PROVIDING COST EFFECTIVE SMOKE ALARM PROTECTION FOR ALL FAMILIES
ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEW 2022 LEGISLATION?

COMMON QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A PHOTOELECTRIC SMOKE ALARM?
Photoelectric-type alarms aim a light source into a sensing chamber at an angle away from the sensor. Smoke enters the chamber, reflecting light onto the light sensor therefore. triggering the alarm. Photoelectric smoke alarms are generally more responsive to fires that begin with a long period of smoldering (called “smoldering fires”)
WHY DO THEY NEED TO BE INTERCONNECTED?
Interconnecting your smoke alarms means that all your linked alarms will sound off whenever a single smoke alarm detects smoke. This means that you are more likely to hear the alarm no matter where you are in the house, especially when you’re at your most vulnerable, asleep.
WHY DO SMOKE ALARMS NEED TO BE HARDWIRED WITH A BATTERY BACKUP?
The hardwired smoke detectors attached to your home's electrical system have backup batteries to sound the alarm even if the power goes out. You do need to change the batteries when the unit indicates that they are low on power to ensure continuous protection from smoke and fires.
